Standard 215 × 102.5 × 65 mm bricks with 10 mm mortar joints: about 60 bricks per m² for each skin.

These are estimates. Always check measurements on site, ask your supplier about pack sizes, and round up to full packs.

Common questions

How much waste should I allow?

Around 5% for bricks and blocks and 10% for plasterboard, tiles, paint, flooring, decking and concrete is a common starting point. Add more for complex shapes, diagonal laying or inexperienced fitters.

Are the figures exact?

No. They depend on joint sizes, brick and block dimensions, how the material is laid and the supplier. Use them to plan an order, then confirm quantities with your supplier.

Where do pack sizes and coverage figures come from?

From the product. We fill in typical values, but adhesive coverage, flooring pack sizes, paint coverage and tile thickness differ between products, so check the label and type in yours.

Can I change the assumptions?

Yes. Waste, coverage, density and tile size are all editable, so you can match your own materials and way of working.
